Role: Graphic Designer + Brand Strategist
The League of Women Voters of the Houston Area is a non-partisan political organization which works to promote civic responsibility through informed and active participation in government.
As a 2016 Rising Star for the League of Women Voters, I was selected to Co-Chair and design the fundraiser brand. I created the look and overall brand for the 2016 League of Women Voters Fundraiser naming it: ROARING WOMEN: Women’s Equality Day Celebration. The entire brand was utilized through print, digital and novelty items to promote the event. All proceeds went to the organization, promoting voter awareness.
Two major color themes were used throughout American suffrage imagery:
1. The indigenous American tradition using gold or yellow coupled with a variety of subordinate colors.
2. The imported use of the British suffrage colors - purple, white, and green, and its American variant purple, white, and gold.
The use of gold began with Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony's campaign to help pass a state suffrage referendum in Kansas in 1867. The pro-suffrage forces adopted the Kansas state symbol, the sunflower as their own. Thereafter, the flower and the color gold or yellow were associated with the suffrage cause. Suffrage supporters used gold pins, ribbons, sashes, and yellow roses to denote their cause. During the nation's centennial celebrations in 1876, suffrage supporters sang "The Yellow Ribbon" song that associated the color with "God's own primal color; born of purity and light" and with the "flame of freedom's fires."

Role: Senior Graphic Designer + Exhibit Designer
Holocaust Museum Houston is dedicated to educating people about the Holocaust, remembering the 6 million Jews and other innocent victims and honoring the survivors' legacy.
As the Senior Designer and in-house Exhibit Designer, I created this memorable traveling exhibit which was also featured in FOTOFEST and received large media coverage throughout the Greater Houston area.
I developed the look and feel of the exhibit, adopting an art nouveau approach as well as complementing ornate illuminating typography styles using Illustrator. The colors I chose give a soft and calm feel to the exhibit, showcasing the photos and history of the testimonies given by survivors.
